It’s constant in game development. Every single indie game that comes out, there’s somebody screaming about AI.

Indie devs have become so paranoid that they have to document to show that it’s not AI. And that person yelling actually wasn’t even interested in the game. They just wanted to punch down.

That’s, like, the whole point of it, isn’t it? It’s sucks that this is now necessary, but overall it’s not that hard, comparatively.
There is an indie game that I like, the developer made a trailer for the second one, and it was very off, the voices were shit, some of the images were weird. There was a big backlash on his subreddit, people have found his posts where he excitedly praised slopgen imagegenerators. People were angry, so he redid the trailer, removed shitty parts, and publicly commited to not use slop in the game. The game is now better for it.
That’s how public accountability works, and that’s how it’s supposed to work.

Oh really? So how do you prove no AI has been used? In the case you describe, there was at least some evidence that AI was used in form of the author’s posts, but I regularly see people accusing things as AI generated based on vibes (see e.g. the comic author from the OOP. Publishing Krita time lapses and source files seems not to be enough evidence for some people)
