I’m just worried for the troops. The fuckers sending them are ultimately responsible, but the troops should have been warmed not to expose themselves to danger like this.

I think it was misunderstood. I was talking about leaking troop movements, but people probably thought I meant “they didn’t sign up to be in harm’s way” (which of course, they did)

Not every body joined to carry out a fascist regimes whims, some joined before and are contracted for years. Some people have no option but the military if they want to have health care for their kids. It’s an unfortunate truth that many good people are in the military because it’s the only way to provide for their family, and a blanket fuck all military members statement shows just how ignorant and stupid you are.

Yeah… only way to have health care for your kids is to blow up other kids. The only way to provide for your family is to provide death to other families.

You cry and call others privileged who have experienced US-backed coups, invasions, sanctions as a collective punishment to starve people, to force countries that who have been taken over to put in severe austerity measures so that people work for fuck-all so that it can be exported to YOUR country for cheap!

And you?? You are crying how oppressed you are? Motherfucker you are not sleeping without a worry whether or not you would wake up after having hour home blown up. You are in fact privileged just from the fact you are living within the Empire that is the US.

Then you justify people joining the military forces that are the ones imposing these terrors onto the global south. You are one depraved and oblivious person. Listen to what the others are saying and read a fucking book for once.

sorry you feel that way. the us has been a terror state since at least ww2 and has terrorized people all over the world for decades. every place they entered was left in shambles and millions of people are worse off and suffering due to the usa’s actions. trump didn´t change the trajectory of american foreign politics and warmongering. america didn´t turn fascist over night. it’s only now that a president makes life worse domestically in a very blatant fashion.

Ok and where do you live buddy? It is ignorant to act like everybody in the military is there by choice. When the choice is to let your family starve and die of preventable disease, or join the war machine do you see that as a choice? Is letting your family die an option you keep on the table? 2 of my siblings would not be here today if not for my father’s health coverage in the military. Not everybody grew up in well to do families that had options, some took the only opportunities they had and to day that’s a choice is pure ignorance. This helps your children have a choice, instead of a grave stone. And the fascist movement in USA really has taken off in the last decade, go watch a George bush talk when he was president. He sounds like a lefty by todays standards with how far the Overton window has shifted. And no I am not justifying the endless stream of “military operations” the USA has partook in, but to compare what’s going on today to what military action looked like 20 years ago is just silly.

I said bush sounds like a lefty due to how much the Overton window has shifted. Are u blind to the right wing nationalism that has taken the USA? There are other jobs in not saying that. I’m not in the military. I also don’t have health care, and when I had jobs that offered the family plans were incredibly expensive. The military is sometimes just the only way your going to get healthcare for you kids, especially if you don’t have good education or other skills. I’m a mechanic and it’s hard to get a GOOD family plan without giving half your salary for it.

you’re either delusional or ridiculously uninformed.

in this case i don’t care if trump does silly shit within your borders. the us has bombed countries back into the stone age for almost a century. and it’s always either about gaining control of resources or for “strategic purposes”.

apart from ww2 (in which they dropped a nuke on a country that was about to be defeated anyway) almost every war in the 20th and 21st century was just an unjustified massacre in places they had no reason to be in other than to swoop in and grab natural resources and plant a base. they haven’t defended themselves once and all the justifications they had to enter a war were the consequences of their own acting.

i implore you to read more about the atrocities your country committed.

It doesn’t matter whether i’m privileged or a victim of your murderous nation. the criticism would still be valid.

I don’t care about internal US bullishit (we were talking about US wars) but even in that area you’re wilfully ignorant McCarthyism, The deporter in chief, Guantanamo bay, Abu gharib (CIA black sites et al). You are clearly a very privileged person with a very loose grasp on history and reality.

While we’re on the tipic. Please explain to me how the extermination campaign in Korea (dropping more bombs on half an already small peninsula than were dropped in the Pacific theatre of WW2 as a whole, 1 in 5 to 1 in 4 of the population killed, all major farms and structures turned to rubble leaving the survivors living in caves) is not equivalent or honestly worse than the more recent atrocities. Or how about Vietnam still dealing with the after affects of the rainbow agents (agent orange etc.). Or the US collection of pet failed states like Libya. How about putting pinochet or the shah (aka the butcher) in power alongside the rest of their pet fascists of the day.

You are an arrogant uninformed privileged ass who needs to read some books and get in touch with reality.

Every single one of them participate in or abet the acts of aggression, crimes, and atrocities carried out across the many conflicts the U.S. is participating and has participated in. As has been pointed out, they help facilitate the killing of civilians, many of which are impoverished.

The fact they’re joining for the benefits does not excuse them in any way.

The very last part of your last sentence is a confession.

Most people are more worried about their immediate family than strangers. But yes I do care, and fortunately it’s not a call I have had to make but I literally couldn’t have kids if I wanted to unless I joined the military today. Too bad the echo chamber here has never had to make a tough call! Maybe they could relate if they had to struggle and grow up poor.

So have I dumb ass, on both sides of US invasions. My mother is from Venezuela, and my father is ashamed of what he had to do to provide his children with a better life. That’s not what my original comment was about, I was stating that in the United States if you are poor and want health care and the opportunity to provide for you family your option is the military. Must be nice to come from a country where you have a choice, your privilege is showing.
