i tried to run cyberpunk for hours and didnt work. im back to windows 11 where stuff work
i have dodi repack of cyberpunk,i tested it on ubuntu after i installed the drivers for my gpu. i used bottles, terminal wine, lutris, steam add non steam app with proton, heroic. and none of them worked. only wine did and the screen was black but sound was there so still useless. i searched for hours and tried everything nothing worked.
i just nuked the ubuntu parition and bios place gone back to windows. launched the game and it worked fine.
i will never use linux again until the gaming is fixed.
people that read linux is good for gaming, dont get scammed like i did. stay on windows if you care about gaming.
note: this post isnt a ragebait im serious this did happen.
“Edge-lord can’t get stolen game to work on linux while legit copies work just fine. Blames Linux.”
– Fixed your headline.
Skill issue.
This can only be a bit or you are a little kid. Entire week posting some dumb questions on the community instead of just going to the point to try getting help installing things.
Your post about piracy in Linux there’s a lot of comments saying that not all repacks works and you dipshit couldn’t read? You want that shit so much? Just repack on windows and copy the gamefolder to your Linux partition and run the game after cracked with proton.
Yeah I’m curious too because I have played Cyberpunk without any issue on both the steam deck and bazzite for a long time, cyberpunk even has a graphics preset for the deck so I’m not sure what’s happening either.
EDIT: Even using both AMD and NVIDIA graphics cards (before the latest nvidia driver version debacle though)
Ubuntu lol.
Try a gaming-focused distro with more focus on preconfigured drivers. I think you need it.
Pop!_OS if you wanna use Ubuntu, CachyOS if you want your shit to be fast.
lol skill issue but the skill floor is so low you’d need to be Hermes Conrad to limbo under it like you did. Impressive.

Brother. You tried to run a repack that was likely developed and tested on Windows, and then got pissed when it didn’t work. This is Linux, you downloaded it for free… there is no megacorp surveilling your system and trying to fix every single gaming edge case so that you stay happy while they shove ads in your face.
If you just want gaming and want to stick your head in the sand and stay completely unaware of how your OS works and what it is doing, absolutely stay on Windows. If you have the slightest care about your privacy, desire to learn about how a computer OS works, or are curious about free software, then join us… there are tons of people out there willing to help you.
And I’m sure there is a way to get that repack working… it may just take some research and actually asking questions in the community.
Works fine through Steam
Yes it does. Windows always spiked temps linux not so much
Well, you can ask for a refund. Oh wait, it’s free.
Mine works flawlessly with Nvidia. Try harder with your shit posting.
note: this post isnt a ragebait im serious this did happen.
just cause it happened doesn’t make it not ragebait. posting “linux is garbage” to a linux forum, when your problem wasn’t even really a linux problem is very much rage bait.
This ice cream shop is trash! Because I took a chocolate and cream cone and ran away without paying, and when I was outside I tripped over my shoelace and my ice cone ended up in a puddle where a dog was pissing. 0/10 would never go that shop again.
It honestly reads like this 🤣
You got scammed? Oh no. How much money did Ubuntu take from you?
skill issue
it is i agree. but why does it even need that much skill is the real question
Did you talk to anyone else about how to solve it?
Consult any forums etc.
Linux is community based.

Also, ‘Bye Felicia!’
/s jk, come back any time :]
As somebody who transitioned from Windows to Linux for business, I can confirm that Linux community is awesome and insanely helpful.
i did see 10 or more reddit threads for this yes none of them worked
So, you didn’t ask anything.
Also, Reddit’s not the whole world, especially when it comes to the Linux community.
it is developed by nerds not product designers that want to maximize handholding
skill issue
That was a lot of words to say “I couldn’t get it to work.”
