    I bought two:

I was really positively surprised by it! Picked it up two years ago and thought I’d spend a couple of hours in it. I’ve spent almost 200 hours in Appalachia by now - one of my favourite comfort games!

I like it a lot. It’s not my favorite of the games, but I think it’s a great game whether played in a public lobby or not. I do usually prefer a private lobby, but not always.

Welcome to Kowloon and The Swapper are both ones I’ve had on my list and both are about $2. Why not?

Besides that, I’m going to try and play some more Baldur’s Gate 3 or Cyberpunk 2077 during the holidays, as I’m still in the early stages of both.

here is your reminder to take a peek over on GOG aswell. personally found steam’s offerings pretty lacking this year. GOG’s; less so.

True, I however got a Steam voucher as a present recently so it made more sense to use it for this. GOG doesn’t do vouchers or do they? Couldn’t find it last time I looked, you can gift specific games though. I might just be blind.

Anyway, to keep with theme of the thread I got 3 games for my voucher:

      Dave the diver

      Tunic

      The last campfire

I remember Stranglehold being mind-blowing for its time. I’m pretty sure I had a physical copy that is long gone, but 5 bucks is not much to see how it has held up.

Also strongly considering breaking my early access rule to check out Jump Space. The main thing holding me back is trying to get a few friends to pick it up as I don’t want the crew to just be me and a bot.

I highly recommend Jump Space if you can recruit your buddies! It’s pretty similar in terms of gameplay feel to Deep Rock Galactic - team play is pretty rewarding, goofing off won’t penalize you too hard. Worth every penny so far

Doom 2016 was my game for last year and into early this year. For what it’s worth, I enjoyed it quite a bit once I got into it. I tried to start it a few times and that didn’t work out, but then suddenly last winter, it all just clicked.

I had also tried Doom Eternal, and that’s not my thing. Doom 2016 lets you play at your own pace, your own style, and make your own choices on how to play … mostly. Doom Eternal you basically have to play it the way THEY want you to play and use the weapons THEY want you to use and if you don’t then you’re in for an unfun struggle. Doom 2016 isn’t really like that, in my opinion and experience.

I got Fallout 4’s DLC - primarily so I can play Fallout London. I also picked up X4: Foundations, and Fallout 76 as well. All were pretty heavily discounted.

Is Fallout London easy to mod on Steam? I read that it requires some extra step, compared to GOG? And since I have the Deck only, do you know if it is easy to install it on the Deck?

Also curious about this. I didn’t want to do a whole new play through with a gog one but don’t really want the hassle of setting up the London mod with my steam version. Been holding off until I get more time to mess with it but the longer I go the more likely I just suck it up and start over on gog.

I think it’s been 3 consecutive years now that ive been waiting on a deep sale for some titles, but they have yet to reach lower than 10 bucks (max I’m willing to pay).

Some of them aren’t particularly old releases so I dont mind waiting more:

    • Signalis
    • Caravan SandWitch
    • UFO50
    • Season
    • System Shock (remake)
    • No Man’s Sky
    • Red Dead Redemption 2
    • Nier Automata

    I might get those:

    • Rain World
    • Weird West
    • Card Shark
    • OlliOlli World

My plan to work on my backlog this fall has utterly failed. Instead I’ve not been playing any games at all for the past month and a half, instead just working on a mod for STALKER Anomaly. Consequently I know in my heart of hearts that the right thing to do is not spend any money this sale. However, I am still looking at:

    Tails of Iron (-92%)

    The Banner Saga (-85%)

    Bloodstained: Ritual of Night (-75%)

    Virgo Versus The Zodiac (-75%)

    Road 96 (-75%)

    HYPER DEMON (-75%)

    INMOST (-70%)

Trepang2 (-66% - if it was any lower I would just snap it)

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night was fun. It did evoke feelings of nostalgia for me, since Castlevania: Symphony of the Night was one of my favorite games back in the late 90s (tied with Resident Evil) and still one of my favorites of all time. I’m personally not a huge fan of the art style and it does lack a bit of polish here and there, but overall good especially at 75% off. Hope you enjoy it.

    • Shape of Dreams: Need to scratch that hack n slash itch. D4 is boring and PoE 2 ran horrible on my machine. New game but under $15.
    • Cuphead: One of my kids has wanted to play this for years. Xmas present for him.
    • Date Everything: The other kid wants this one. Xmas present. I dunno, man.
    • The Seance of Blake Manor: Our family loves these kinds of games and it’s one of the only ways to get us all in a room. New game but under $15.
    • Split Fiction: I hate the price still but my wife loved It Takes Two. Fiiiiiiine.
    • Duck Detective The Secret Salami: Another family game.
    • Echoes of the Plum Grove: I like this kinda stuff
    • Capcom Fighting Collection 2: Man I love Power Stone.
    • Astro Bot: Reviews are good enough to catch it on black friday deals.
    • Spiderman 2: Loved 1 and Miles Morales.

Is Seance of Blake Manor the first Blue Prince-like? I’m very hyped about it too but I’m still waiting for more than -25% off. Let me know how you like it, Blue Prince was my GOTY so another game to scratch that itch is enticing.

Got them the cosplay they wanted for Xmas. That’s their big gift.

And in this moment, I realized my kid fits some theater kid cosplay archetype that I didn’t know existed.
