Why destroy something many people value, just because you don’t? Sorry your first time was shit.

Modesty about sex and Victorian propriety is alive and well with gen Z. Calvinist resurgence.

Nothing to do with propriety. Reducing first sexual experiences to insignificance is harmful, imo. It isn’t insignificant, whether it’s good or bad, it’s pretty influential on sexual development. Trying to enforce meaninglessness is problematic. Most people will feel a significance in their first time and an oppressive culture that demands we act like it’s meaningless is not progress, it’s repression.

It’s a good thing imo that people can experience their first time honestly. Not trying to force it to confirm to any cultural norm, including those demanded by progressives who act wise but teach ideology. Let people experience their first time authentically, whatever that is.

Which means no purity culture. BY NOT PUTTING ANY PRESSURE on the first time.

If YOU tell your kids it is special than YOU don’t let them experience it how they naturally would.

It is special though, it’s never like that again. It isn’t pressuring them to make it special, it’s acknowledging that it is,.whatever it ends up being, is a special moment. Not everyone’s l moment is as awesome as other’s, but they are all special.
