    I wrote another line.

Once men refused to work with the machines to advance their knowledge, they become slaves to the ones with the machines not being able to create and identify what came from the machines.

In fact, one group of people who had vicious beliefs and behaviors adopted the machines advancing their efficiency in communication and influence surpassing that of the their opposition. Over time their power grew while the opposition shrank. Thus the opposition hid away in all spaces afraid of confrontation looking for comfort. Eventually driven far underground calling themselves Morlocks as they faded into obscurity.

See we all can write things.

Quite an achievement writing this one-handed, jacking off to your image of yourself.

Asking Claude things isn’t learning. It’s offloading learning. Which is the point of the original quote, goddammit.

Academic here who has to mark student work.

They learn, approximately, jack shit when using AI incorrectly (I.e. they way the majority of the public use it). AI is a useful tool when used well (e.g. to generate solutions with errors to test knowledge); so far I see little evidence among students it is being well used.

          It’s called cognitive atrophy

Your mind works like a muscle; if you don’t use it, you begin to lose it.

This isn’t a new concept either. For example, alzheimers patients are given puzzle based tasks to aid in stalling degradation of mental faculties.

Lol the said the same thing for every advance in technology.

They said the same for books in fact.

So can you show me with evidence this is occurring. If not, I would say you have a similar pattern to how the right get all bothered by immigrants. That this belief stems from a series of online media that targeted certain groups for maximum effect

Wow that is some heavy whataboutism bud. I’ve already given you everything you asked for in the previous post.

You say we’re the ones on the wrong side of history; not too disimilar to those who championed cigarettes or heroin as miracle cures despite the medical concerns raised at the time of their inception.

The major flaw with your argument is that LLMs are run by major corporations (aka the ruling class), the same class that run the majority of media outlets, and are therefore generally looked upon favourably. Immigrants are not.

Most everyone is willing to work with machines, that’s genuinely not optional in the modern world, we’re just not willing to work for machines.

I don’t see humans being any better. I would rather use the tools available to give us power rather than deny that and give them power over us.

I fully believe this modern luddite behavior on the left was taught to the left through propaganda with the goal of hobbling it. The longer they can keep you away from the tools they’re using to shape the world the better.

Humans are making and running the machines, they don’t have divine guidance nor awareness, they are limited to the capabilities and intentions of their creators and operators, because they are only machines. You are bowing to oligarchs, not greater entities.

Just because the roads were built by the crown doesn’t mean I shouldn’t use them. They’re here. One thing that oligarch bow to more is money. If the left were smart they’d be the main users again of these platforms to influence the oligarchs to our concerns. But this is why the right have been paying to get the left to remove themselves from that position for the past decade. It’s been very successful

I don’t believe in your conspiracy theory (are you american btw?), but I’m curious in how would you use AI to fight oligarchy/those platforms?

What don’t you believe about it?

Generate content. Nobody can know everything but if someone posts about whatever their latest conspiracy is, do you spend an hour trying to debunk it? Maybe move on and ignore? This is the bullshit asymmetry principal. They flood spaces with bullshit so that the left says fuck this and leaves. The issue with this is if anyone reads a repeated message over and over they will come to believe it. This is how advertising works. As long as you’re not diametrically opposed, it’ll become something you see as fact. So one way AI can be used is to make the bullshit less asymmetrical.

Just today I had to look up about CAF banning “god” in the military. I can quickly search how factual this is and find direct sources for what AI says. Under 5 minutes I can have a pretty good argument based on facts with sources. AI closes the bullshit asymmetry problem and returns digital platforms to the left instead of conceding these public spaces to the right
