“I’m delighted to be wrong” is not something I want to hear from someone who has such an outsized impact on my perception of reality.
You really need to work on getting comfortable with sitting in silence because being alone with your thoughts is where wisdom comes from.


Oh man, let me introduce you to Christopher Hitchens. Unfortunately dead now, he was an intellectual powerhouse who could cut down any argument for religion like a hot knife through butter. Start by searching Instagram for him. He’s also funny as shit. Incorporate some of his arguments against god in your conversations with people who insist that god has anything at all to do with your accomplishments and you should shut them up pretty quickly.


What we should have been doing for decades in this country is teaching people to be critical thinkers and media savvy. There are simply too many opportunities for unintended consequences when you try to control language. Our inquiries of the world must be based on rationality.

If you do this, please teach them media literacy and critical thinking skills. 8 to 11 year olds is the perfect time to start these lessons in earnest. And don’t indoctrinate them to any religion until they reach the age of reason so they can dispense with the fairy tales.
