Slop implies bare bones, generic, repetitive design, and thrown together quick. Say what you want about Zelda, but it has never been any of those.

some of, to the flat out worst, in their respective series.
TOTK/BOTW
Look mate, not everything you don’t personally like is “slop”.
And your other cases are pokemon (who’s been accused of sinking since the 3DS days) and Smash’s online. Not even the game, its netcode (which if we’re being real is bad for 99% of Nintendo games). We don’t need to invent reasons to hate Nintendo, okay.
yeah, at that point you just gotta sell it off. Hell, sell it off half price and you still get life changing money.

only became a problem because Meta made them
Anyone who remember “glassholes” knows this isn’t new. Wearing a camera on your literal eyes is still a step too far in this otherwise compromised world.
But yes, I think the big issue here, as others pointed out, has to do with the nature of the company producing them. That’d be especially important for a place like DEFCON, which is all about securing your data.
The Black Panthers did more to advance gun control laws than any “radical left hippie kumbaya” ever did. Let minorities have the same freedoms and suddenly things need to be toned down for everybody.
that’s not what I said.
I’m saying you’re premise is flawed, unprovable, and simply bad. Does that get it through to you? You’re making unfounded assumptions and triping down doesn’t make it more correct.
And I’m saying that’s a bad faith statement, as if you know every single person who didn’t boycott pledged to boycott or even know of the boycott.

but the vast majority of end users are more neutral on the subject.
Not in the last 9 months or so. Even if people ignored everything else, data centers have been awful PR since that is only adding to the affordability crisis on people’s energy bills. AI sentiment in the West has completely turned around in the last 2 years.
As an indie dev at the scale of “not even getting 100 dollar paychecks” , your audience for the few few dozen reviews (the most important) are more likely to be these niches who are looking to try smaller stuff. And who’s more sensitive to slop than the mainstream. You gotta be careful with your PR, especially in your writing and art.

Labor laws, whatever you want to call them. Main point is that it’s not normal for companies to layoff 10, 20, 50% of its workforce while reporting record profits.
Can I believe Japanese companies resisted that? Sure. But something had them lose out compared to the US’slobbying.
That’s not true.
It’s much simpler, this tweet from one dude won’t have the reach to really make any impact. Awareness is the problem more than willpower, and it’s werid that we think anyone who “broke” the boycott was even aware to begin with. Or cares.

Itch is right there down the street. GoG is generally decent too (but has the same cut).
But these kinds of things are never about litetal options, it’s about market capture.

I know he means “without the use of LLMs.”. That’s the big thing being forced down People’s throats that they don’t like.
I doubt people are rebelling against reinforcement learning for physically based animations, or prediction engines to forecast the weather

Man, I’m a laid off dev too. You really should know by now how scrutinous people are about AI anything.
You’re not even getting the 100 dollar monthly payments off steam. Forget “just use google translate like pre-AI”, why not just focus on one language and look into localization later if this game catches on? Now instead all languages will be scanning your game with a fine-toothed comb.

Most the pieces of shit usually don’t also insult their customer base on a regular basis on top of being pieces of shi
These day? Yeah they do. Sony is in the fuck around stage as we speak. Microsoft was long into the Find Out stage.
Valve’s credit is that they are pretty good at not saying the quiet parts out loud. But that should have been the bare minimum.

NoJ is great and you’re basically set for life if you get in.
NoA is mostly contractors, if you’re not high management or extremely specialized consulting, it’s no better than any other American AAA gaming studio. Really shows how culture and regulations keep companies honest.

Seriously. Sony went mask off and is killing goodwill, Microsoft wasn’t ever serious outside of the early 360 era. Steam has its own legal battles in court over how it abuses it monopoly.
Maybe Sonic was right. There truly is no ethical consumption under capitalism.

Its a stupid legal argument too. Why can’t we just say “Nintendo chose to pay the tarriff cost, they don’t deserve a refund”?

anyways, freeuse is kinda what it says on the tin. “Free” to “use” the person wherever, whenever. if they’re relaxig in bed, while they are doing the dishes, outside gardening the plants, while asleep. Usually has some overlap with the ignoring kink where they try to just go about their day and pretend they aren’t being railed ruthlessly.
The post is real. I think they Ai slop was just a weird censorship technique.
Now, whether or not the users on Reddit are bots getting freaky on main is a different question altogether…
Education can’t fix apathy. I don’t know what can, to be honest. Community, perhaps.
