No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•How often do you change your towels?
61·1 day agoFor towels that are sized for hands, I change those once every 1 - 2 months.
For towels used on the body, about 2 - 3 months.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Is there an endgame to Trump or trying to obtain? Or is he making it up along the way at the cost of Americans?
4·1 day agoHe is chaotically making it up along the way. When he’s polarizing even his voterbase at times, it is a clear sign that this guy is nothing but destruction unchecked.
The Republicans now, can only wish they’d have someone like George W Bush in office again because at least that’s someone who they know can dupe easily into supporting every crooked idea they have in mind.
With Trump, only Project 2025, the establishment of DOGE, letting ICE run around recklessly and force-pressuring Democrats to play ball is all that’s in the playbook. Anything else, it is just carnage.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Do you think that everyone have a "mask" that they use to show a different "self" to different people and that hides their true self, a truth they don't even show to their closest friends/family?
5·1 day agoPoliticians do this all of the time. Say and do one thing as theater to the public, turn around and do and say different things out of the public eye we later find out about.
I do this fairly often too. Where I work, nobody doesn’t need to know of shit about my personal life, it is none of their business. There’s nobody I like enough there that warrants me gushing about myself. I have about maybe five key friends who all know in depth of me, but how I tell things slightly differs from another but they’re generally getting the same stories and experiences I talk about.

5·2 days agoThe Tribe and The Thirst.
And they are considered awful.

6·2 days agoI wished that the Lost Boys got their spin-off the Lost Girls, would’ve liked to have seen how that materialized. Unfortunately with Joel Schumacher dead, we’ll never get to see that. Instead, we got awful direct-to-dvd sequels.

5·2 days agoAnd the fans are once again anticipating that it’ll be Mega Man Legends 3.
Look, Capcom has apparently made it known that they’re not interested. They’re either going to continue the classic line because reasons, make up a spin-off or make an entirely new Mega Man game.
I just want a Mega Man game where he goes from classic to X to bridge those series together.

420·2 days agoThe only respect I’m ever going to give Bill Cosby, is how he stood up and criticized the black community for their ghetto-like behavior and how they continued blaming the white man for all of their problems. That took balls and only he could have done it because he’s black as well.

54·2 days agoI am going to be controversially unpopular by saying that just simply going to saudi arabia to do a show is nothing. There are still people there who live under a tyrannical regime that they can do little about, who is to say that they don’t deserve some entertainment? Because it would be blanket generalizing to say that everyone in Saudi Arabia is a-okay with what their government does or whatever the prince does. Granted, you can say 90% of the people there approve of whatever the Saudi Prince does, but there’s still that 10% that don’t for him.
Besides, these are a bunch of comedians, not politicians. Political matters in regards to human rights should be handled by politicians who right now, aren’t doing a stellar job except shit out statistics about how bad it is. What can anyone else do? If anyone else outside of a politician or an official’s scope of handling does shit, then that’s grounds to start yet another war, which we don’t need another of considering everything going on right now.
So, you know, you feel whatever you feel. I hate the WWE for doing business with the Saudis which is different than a few comedians just going there to do an event.

15·2 days agoBut I don’t see someone like Louis capable of doing that. If he’s about as upfront as he is in his stand-up, I can’t see him swinging his influence around like that.
He actually said he wielded power irresponsibly. In actuality, I think he handled it as well as one could in his situation. He at least asked. Though he could’ve also asked if he could excuse himself or they could excuse themselves so he can have privacy, something. It could’ve totally flipped over on its head if he just went and did it in a way like “ah fuck these women around me, I wanna jerk off”.
There were far more worse offenders that MeToo brought out than him in comparison.
I would rephrase to “cost sensitive”
I shower every other day and studies can back it up by saying it is not a bad way to go.
I get reluctant to shop over 35 or even 40 in total. Unless something is really, really worth it.
The only time I want food delivered if it’s groceries. Because not gonna shop around people.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•How did you guys celebrate Christmas this year?
2·2 days agoI slept most of it away because I know I have to go in tonight to work, and work for a ungrateful store for an equally ungrateful company.
But I’m coming off of 5 days off too so it’s like, trying to get my mind into the swing of things.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•People who have used dating apps before, what was your experience like?
3·2 days agoAbsolutely disgraceful that they exist. They prey on people’s desperation to not be lonely and through that, people will pay anything to not be lonely anymore.
I’ve been on a couple of them and they do this Facebook-like trick, where they stuff your inbox full of notifications that people are suddenly wanting to contact you. But in order to access your inbox, you have to pay to see what’s there. What are the odds that after just registering, making your profile and everything that it is just bots or nothing in that inbox?
Just bullshit and predatory.
Facebook’s Dating app, while free and everything, they limit your character limit. So you have to dumb down your profile and you’ll maybe get one person or two in spacious periods of time. But even then you’re spending a lot of time just swiping past people who are restricted to the same thing and you don’t learn a lot about them.

Piracy: ꜱᴀɪʟ ᴛʜᴇ ʜɪɢʜ ꜱᴇᴀꜱ@lemmy.dbzer0.com•Anna’s Archive Backed Up Spotify, Plans to Release 300TB Music Archive * TorrentFreak
3·2 days agoThe American Government and those who lobby all the time for things to get their way. The only kind of history they like, is one they approve of. Any historical facts or things they disagree with, is white-washed and buried. The only things they bother to archive are what they think is dear to them and things that are mostly commonly known, nothing of interest.
Profit is the bottom line.
It’s quite sad, how many museums and archival efforts are allowed to die here. The video game industry, was happily allowing over 87% of games released in the past, to just rot and die off without a care. Pirates had to step in a preserve. The music industry, would only care so much about keeping things if they were successful artists. Just so much selective and arbitrary reasons to keep things.

I will not run from my country. I will remain here and be a problem to the opposition by existing aka an enemy to the regime of an administration.
And just because I continue to live here, does not mean I accept everything they do.
