Okay, I get it, you don’t know time zones already so you have to research every time but most people don’t think of the other people please.

So every time you deal with somebody in a different location, you can’t assume anything about the hours and times you have to ask them or go look it up Even if you have a decent idea where they live because you’re not going to know the time disparity of every city out there.

How in the evolutionary hell do they still exist?

Don’t get me wrong, I would absolutely dearly love to have proper trains running on time to every location.

But we basically made a souffle, and you’re asking us to turn it into chocolate cake.

We could get away with an advanced network of buses.

I opened up the floodgates at my office dedicating support for anyone wanting to. All our servers and production are Linux so probably 1/4 of the staff is cli literate.

So far it’s me with NixOS and one other guy running Debian.

Half the remaining use WSL.

My win11 VM sits on my disk, most days it stays off. It starts in 30 seconds and I use remina to remote into it. It sucks that I lose 60gb of disk, but it’s fast and everything just works.

We use Google docs at work so that’s an easy win.

1. Teachers spend a non-trivial amount of time post class working on previous assignments, future assignments, setting up tests coordinating with other teachers and staff. If they start all this at 5, they’re stuck at the office until very late.

2. Busses/kids on the road before rush hour

3. Extra-curricular activities are better off earlier than later, don’t want clubs running into diner time.

4. better chance of getting home before dark in winter at Northern latitudes

That’s not even close to that I said.

If you say a bunch of things that would get you in trouble on your anonymous account, then over a period of time say enough other things to dox yourself, all your old account content is still there. Over time a little slip here, a little slip there. You put enough pins on the board, someone can find you, hell you might even accidentally talk about something unique. Happens all the time.

It’s a risk for no good reason. Your’re taking the risk so that some other nameless person on a social media instance can go ohhhhhh that company did bad things.

It’s a bold assumption that you will never dox yourself or be doxed. The fediverse by nature not at all private.
