  • You are correct, but on the other hand it doesn’t hurt to make the average person aware of alternatives.

Can be especially effective when the person buys a new PC and needs to do all the stuff you mention anyway. Yes, it is still a new OS, but honestly, it’s not that different - especially if the person remembers older Windows versions, it might just feel like going to familiar places (I know this is something my wife would really apreciate as she hates the constant changes of how things look). Obviously depends on distro, only have experience with Mint.

I’m saying this from a position of a resonably tech savvy, but not your average tech nerd (at least knowledge wise lol). Sure there are differences under hood but I don’t think the average user would really notice them that much.

There are normal cheeses, there are lactose free cheeses and vegan cheeses as well. I think that’s all possible bases covered? Beside, cheese is delicious (I have yet to have a delicious vegan cheese but I’m told they exist - probably didn’t get here yet or too pricey for me - but that’s beside the point :D).

I vote cheese day, your logic is bullet proof.

Not for self defense (obviously) and due to personal reasons on hiatus currently (if all goes well I will start again next year) - but I do Historical European Martial Arts (HEMA).

It’s fencing, but mainly with longsword (tried sword&buckler and a bit of rapier), techniques recreated based on historical fencing books and manuals. Really fun!

First gaming memory is Prehistoric - a platformer with a caveman dude, smacking dinosaurs with a club. Got to like third level once :D

Also remember this helicopter game I don’t know the name of but it ran on Windows 3.1 as oposed to DOS, which most games I played ran on.
