My local community college had a program where you could get your ged and learn a trade so I left my junior year to do that instead. I really wish the public school system was better but sadly people just don’t care enough.
There’s been so many blue maga types popping up since the news came out and it’s hella annoying. For an entire day on bluesky you couldn’t go anywhere without seeing some ex Facebook boomer blue maga type glazing genocide joe. God forbid you said anything against him and you got absolutely dog piled and scolded by people who were one wrong turn away from being Trumps strongest soldier.

carrion0409@lemm.eeto Technology@lemmy.world•Microsoft is putting AI actions into the Windows File ExplorerEnglish5·4 days agoInstalling gpu drivers on linux was night and day. Everything around drivers on windows is such a hassle and I’m shocked they haven’t bothered to look into it. Sure there’s geforce experience but that software is just another form of bloat meant to collect telemetry.

But my friends and I play games that wont work properly under it. Recently we’ve been really into halo infinite but that game just doesnt work well under linux. I do plan on building an all amd system this fall so thatll be a big help towards fully jumping to linux for me but for now dual booting is my strategy. Im sure ill make someone mad with how I go about things but its what works for my use case.
carrion0409@lemm.eeto Technology@lemmy.world•'End of 10' to Windows 10 Users: The Environment Wants You to Use LinuxEnglish61·8 days agoI dual boot at this point. I have a POP_OS! nvme where I do normal pc stuff and maybe some light single player gaming, then I boot into my windows ssd for the heavier anticheat stuff. Imma be completely honest though. For most people I recommend just upgrading to windows 11 if you can. Linux is great but I think if someone just cares about gaming they should stick to windows.

Vulkan and DX11 or lower games were great but DX12 saw a performance hit pretty much across the board. For example ive been playing through the last of us part 1 on steam and it ran ultra no issues under windows but under linux it had to be set to low to maintain 60. Uncharted and spiderman were great on both windows and linux so maybe it was just that game. Anti cheat also wont work most of the time. If you play things like cod, siege, apex, fortnite, gta online or anything like that its a no go but you could also dual boot just for those games if you wanna play them that bad. Seeing as you dont play many games and dont like messing with drivers Id say go for it. Drivers are less of a hassle on linux than windows imo since linux will get everything automatically and will auto update them along with the system.

I’m of the belief that we should let the dead rest in peace. Bringing them back through ai or other means fundamentally goes against that. Im also against taxidermy but that’s not the debate were having rn. This lands in that category for me. I’m neutral on ai broadly but this is where I draw the line.
carrion0409@lemm.eeto Technology@lemmy.world•After an Arizona man was shot, an AI video of him addresses his killer in courtEnglish211·17 days agoTo me this is the equivalent of taxidermying a person then using them as a puppet. Sure it might have a positive impact on some people but it’s immoral at best.
I really feel like Microsoft is on a quest to make windows as non user friendly as possible. Everything is hidden behind menus, the search function barely works, the taskbar can’t be moved, they’re constantly changing program names and can’t forget cramming a useless chat bot into the os again. It’s just a never ending stream of choices that make literally no sense from the perspective of the end user.
