As someone who has watched Forensic Files and rewatched almost every episode multiple times, I would slightly disagree. It’s true that hair without the root usually doesn’t contain nuclear DNA that can be used to directly match a person. However, hair shafts can still contain mitochondrial DNA.

Mitochondrial DNA is inherited through the maternal line and can sometimes be recovered even when the root is missing. While it’s not as specific as nuclear DNA and usually can’t identify a single individual, it can still help investigators narrow things down to a maternal lineage.

Oh god the hate in this sub. It is definitely another tool for a dev to use. Like autocomplete or a lot of other stuff a good IDE does to help you. If you don’t want to use it, fine. Perhaps you’re such a pro that you don’t need anything but a text editor. If you’re not, and you’re ignoring it for whatever petty reasons, you’ll probably fall behind all the devs who learned how to use it to get more productive (or, in developer terms, lazier)

Thanks for explaining it in a way that a noob like me could understand. So the wall has prebolted routes? Does that mean someone with a drill climbed the wall trad and attached them or how the heck is this done?
