Interesting to note that most of those are not chip makers but fabless semi conductor companies who outsource all of their production to global foundries and tscm.
Didn’t Google try this and canned the project after nobody wanted to wear them or be recorded all the time?
US tax rate isn’t different on bonuses, but the withholding is.
The govt sees you getting paid a shit ton one month and thinks it’s gonna be like that every month from now on so they keep a bunch of extra money so they can be sure you pay your taxes. Then at the end of tax season when you file, you get the extra back in your return.
It will likely be a combination of both. As prices increase, new fabs become more financially lucrative and viable. Demand will also fall as the bubble bursts, but likely will not go back to that it was either.
