Mildly Interesting@lemmy.world•Should we ditch the idea of three meals a day?
1·12 days agoIn the context of blood sugar, carbohydrates is the sugar being discussed, not cane sugar, and bread in almost all forms is just pure simple carbs. Peanut butter is at least a bit more complex, but would still cause blood sugar problems. If you’re trying to avoid diabetes, daily peanut butter bread is probably a bad call.

3·16 days agoEvery 401k I and my wife have had let us set which index, but would rebalance itself every year because they believe they know better. It’s really annoying, but if you’re familiar with the markets, I would say it’s very necessary. Especially since the default funds will often have fees associated to them.

PC Gaming@lemmy.ca•The RAM crisis is resurrecting DDR4 memory and motherboard production as hardware cycle reverses - CPU, GPU, and RAM production are going back in time, for consumers anywayEnglish
3·17 days agoThere are some differences, but real world applications, especially in the gaming space, are minuscule. You do almost touch on another important point; it’s hard to get benchmarks because you’re not going to find a processor that was made for both. Basically a single gen of intel is all we get. FWIW that gen showed a roughly 5% performance on a typical game, and 10% on a known memory intensive game. That’s 3 frames at 60fps, or ~7 frames at 144, and this assumes you actually need that last bit of performance.

I had a 14 year account I think, maybe 15 year by this point, and I ultimately deleted my account when Trump got elected, but still used the mobile site on safari. Then a month or two ago the site became unusable as it shoved the app download link front of screen and covered all the content.
