Am I missing a punchline at the end? Or does it simply end with additional frustration?

While technically true, I think poker actually is one of those games in which the stakes (providing a tangible fear of loss) are a valuable element to the game. Tournament style poker would essentially accomplish this, but it’s not always easy to round up enough friends to make it enjoyable. And even then, the people who drop out early on have to either watch or find something else to do.
I play WordFeud with friends and see the kazzzhhii ads after 50% of my plays. (Didn’t wanna spell it correctly and give them even more web presence)
I like how “British” is part of the derogatory portion of the list
I’m afraid I’ve used “lol” so much for so many years that this is exactly how people will interpret my texts if I suddenly stop now.
I finally know the proper spelling for my sinister scheming noises

Am I interpreting correctly that you have a wife as well as at least one additional sex partner? Niceeee.
Damn this hits close to home. I always stop myself before sending that text, but holy damn do I feel tempted.
Dear Chat Gippity: If I send this to my colleagues, will that help me make friends at work?

2·13 days agoThis measured response feels much healthier than my/our kneejerk reactions. Any prosecutor is going to seek information that would help their case, and they expect the Court to simply say No when it isn’t compatible with the law. It sucks that this Trump admin and retributive DOJ have such an anti-American track record that our initial instinct is that every move is another attempt to suppress criticism (which it likely would be if they had any scintilla of competence to go with their thirst for fascism).

2·13 days agoSuppression of anything critical of Trump and the other snowflakes is the goal. Oppression is their favorite tool, but they’ll settle for intimidation which still ends up being effective even when our institutions uphold the Constitution.

6·13 days agoI finally left just a couple weeks ago. Seeing and hearing about entire accounts being banned after simple peaceful criticism of political leaders showed me that they use poorly programmed algorithms to issue bans and also confirm them on appeals without any reasonable human elements. It also seemed like some accounts would get perma-banned by simply complaining about this process.

This ignores the pattern of how we have been integrating technology into how we think, as it gets physically closer and closer to our brains. The AI algorithms already have massive control over how we think and decisions we make. Eventually we incorporate it into our brains, and we will no longer be able to differentiate between a choice that was made by the technology or by the human elements of our brain.
The good news is that this increases the likelihood that we can cohabitate with AI. The bad news is that humanity will become indistinguishable and likely a decreasing factor in the direction that our world and society move toward.
