My 250€ Kindle Oasis (1st Gen) became unusably slow after the last major update. Constantly freezes. This was marketed as a premium device, and you can’t even upgrade because Amazon killed the line. My next e-reader won’t be Amazon, but it sucks that I’ll lose all the notes I’ve had on there since I got my first Kindle in 2009.
LuigiMaoFrance@lemmy.mlto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What is the oldest thing you own that you still use daily?9·20 days agoI still have the black wooden chest my great-grandmother and her son (my grandfather who only died last year) kept all their belongings in when they fled westwards from the Russian army in 1940s Germany. The chest itself was probably built quite a while before that, but I don’t know how old it is exactly.
I fold up my pants and place them on there every night.

I know it nuked my hairline after just 3-4 months of being on it.
And to reply to your original topic, yeah, women receive way more support post-breakup in my experience, while men are expected to just suck it up. As a male you’re treated as disposable whose worth is based on what he can offer others, while women are inherently valued for being female.
It is what it is.

100% agreed, this line of arguing is how they’re trying to keep us docile.
This book completely changed my view on non-violent resistance movements a few years ago. Highly recommended.
