  • Read before that:

    Prerequisites

You will need the following software installed:

    • Microsoft Visual C++ 4.2. This can be found on many abandonware sites, but the installer can be a little iffy on modern versions of Windows. For convenience, a portable version is available that can be downloaded and used quickly instead.
    • CMake. A copy is often included with the “Desktop development with C++” workload in newer versions of Visual Studio; however, it can also be installed as a standalone app.

    And after that:

For advanced users, you can get LEGO Island to run from anywhere as long as ISLE.EXE and LEGO1.DLL are in the same directory and the cdpath and diskpath registry keys (usually found in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Mindscape\LEGO Island on 32-bit operating systems and HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Wow6432Node\Mindscape\LEGO Island on 64-bit operating systems) point to the correct location for the asset files (the directory that contains the LEGO folder).

  • I don’t like it because you can’t use the mail address in any mail app. Only in their app or in the browser.

So when they dropped app support for my phone I had to use the web version. But then they also dropped the support for that.

Just like Microsoft they are declaring a perfectly fine phone (MS with PCs) obsolete and make it unusable (MS W11). All in the name of “Security”. (Even though you can access the web version of tuta on a PC running Windows XP, a >20 year old OS. I have tried that in a VM after I couldn’t access it on my phone. How hypocritical.)

I am not going to start my PC just to check my emails. I have deleted my account.

  • Ehh?? How would that app know about the data the store potentially collects?

Many stores have installed Bluetooth beacon tracking that will monitor all customers cell phones

What? No one is doing that. Why would they? What if you have bluetooth disabled all the time like me because you don’t have any Bluetooth accessories, or to save power, or because Bluetooth is insecure.

Self checkouts also have cameras that can identify biometrics

??? The camera is just to check on the customers if they are scanning everything properly and not stealing. A human is reviewing the footage. A human is going to confront you if they detect you not scanning something.

They have absolutely no reason to store the video footage or even sell that to anyone. Besides, no one would buy that. Not even the app from OP‘s post.

You should put down your tinfoil hat.
