I started a new save last week in preparation. This way I’ll have a early-mid game level character I’m invested in by the time it drops.

It looked interesting enough that I might pick up starfield. I will likely be waiting for a sale tho.

People here really love pouring cold water on this, don’t they?

Starfield wasn’t my favorite, and I was disappointed with quite a few things about the game, but I still enjoy it. At least it isnt permanently tethered to a server that Bethesda can shut off at any moment. Its good to see them.not completely giving up on Starfield, but I do wish they had listened more to feedback and given the game a true 2.0 update that improves it more.

Everyone loves to hate on shit. Especially Bethesda stuff. I dont need a 2.0 I need a few quality of life improvements and them to focus on new releases after some more dlc.

I’m not, I remember how badly the fumbled the bag with Shattered Space…It’s not likely anything can actually save Starfield, as Bethesda couldn’t be arsed to figure out how to write a good fucking story in space!

I didn’t buy Shattered Space, but it sure sounded unappealing. Like, pick the least attractive faction, psycho religious nuts, and write about that? It lost me right there, just with the theme.

I’ve watched some gameplay from Starfield, and honestly…I felt like the writers and devs didn’t know what would incite the creation of a massive fan base. The game is all over the place and about as deep as a puddle. Which is a shame, as I do love a well-made or fun space game. Shattered Space was unappealing because they could’ve chosen so many things to expound upon in a DLC, but psycho religious nuts centered DLC was just the worst decision. They were close to having me, as I thought Shattered Space might be a ‘Phantom Liberty’ moment for Starfield. It instead became the second coming of floptina, the failure that keeps giving.

I think Bethesda is on their way out…

Ya totally. I don’t play the main game, haven’t done any Constellation missions.
I explore systems, steal ships, and kill people.
My big thing lately has been dumping everything in the galaxy onto the floor of the Broken Spear tavern in Cydonia. Got a pretty big pile going.
So ya, the updates they’ve announced sound like they will enhance the stuff I enjoy in the game.

100%, though I hope they expand on the freeflying and let you also approach planets and land manually, even if all it does is the same loading in as from the map but with a disguised loading screen in a form of you approaching the landing spot instead.

I’m planning to give it another go. Only played it for maybe 15 hours around launch and found it pretty underwhelming.

I had an awful lot of fun in the lower levels by sticking entirely with my mining laser. After a while I picked up a rivet gun and an arc welder. Later on a ship cutter to replace the mining laser. And finally I got some Arc Might plasma drill thing that absolutely tears through anything with the most jarring sound. I’m not really the cosplay type, but my dood is a miner, with modified, deadly tools. Silly, I know, but fun is where you find it.

I enjoy watching oboeshoes play it. He gives Starfield playthroughs some flavor.

I really liked Starfield and had lots of fun with it and the first Dlc.

Looking forward to playing the new one two, but not that soon. I started a highly modded Morrowind playthrough a few days ago and that will take ages to play.

Yeah I’ve had a good time with it over the course of a couple playthroughs. This will be my third character. I’ve been happy with it since launch and I like the additions they’ve made since.

    Yeah, I quite liked it.

Yeah, some of the planets were repetitive, but so is endlessly murdering people on GTA.

Started playing it again but it’s getting too sunny to justify sitting in a dark room playing for 8 hours or so

I wish it ran well on my 6-year-old PC. I want to get back into it and actually give it a real try. Also I want to play with some Star Wars mods.

My answer is the same as when Brewster asks me if I want pigeon milk in my coffee in Animal Crossing: “Ew, no.” (Look up pigeon milk. Or Starfield, for that matter.)

I’d forgotten about that game. Maybe if it’s deeply discounted, I’ll finally give it a try. I still haven’t made up my mind about it. I might enjoy adding it to my endless “to do list”.
