I have a sneaking suspicion that a lot of people will dismiss it simply because it looks cheap. It’s like a a tech demo without textures. Although based on their multiple instances of stolen art, calling it an asset-flip is probably more accurate.
Personally I think the visual style looks messy. It’s an incoherent vomit of colors to my eyes. Almost like they made all assets in isolation and pray it will work out somehow. I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s how they did.
The entire visual style is also blatantly stolen from an artist who’s been doing it for a decade or more, right down to their artwork and their logo being used in-game.
