They’re not designed to keep you misinformed and angry: they’re designed to keep you engaged…

Misinformed and angry is just a “happy” accident…

The disadvantage of lemmy is that you can’t do any of this shit. You can’t “hack the algorithm” if there is no “algorithm”.

I highly recommend The Archeology of Knowledge by Michel Foucault, it is the magnum opus of contemporary philosophy and critical theory in terms of the phenomelogies of power.

Really helped me conceptualize politics at this moment.

Oui monsieur, my bad edited it. As someone who graduated in stem, I have a very easy time understanding natural or technical or economical causes and effects but loathe it when another person in my field speaks on politics or social groups since they almost always come off as bigoted or ignorant (often both).

I ve therefore been interested in the social sciences and humanities for a while as they are a pleasure to discover. I find philosophy and critical theory to be the best guides to understanding realities that fall outside of the bounds of one s rationality and Foucault’s concepts explain politics better than anyone else (aside maybe from Deleuze and Guittari in A Thousant Plateaus).
