I have one of these. Ive been manually shutting it down because it wants to update, I never update. But evenutally, the machine just pushes it through anyway on start.
I swear to gawd if it breaks my legion I will be pissed. It’s the most expensive single item I own.
Perfectly understandable. Putting Linux on any kind of OEM device can be a bit of a hassle. I’ve had the best experience with PCs I built myself, not things with custom components, weird drivers and locked down nonsense.

Have you considered installing Steam OS?
I could probaby find install instructions, and do this. However, It’s was my husband’s purchase, and he doesnt want me to fuck with it.
I recently gave an honest go at intalling linux on an old chrombook, that project sits unfinished, so, I get it lol.
It can usually go awhile without updating before it pushes it through, I am hoping, hoping, they patch the issue before then I guess.
