and that’s why governments don’t negotiate with terrorists / hostage-takers - if the attackers achieve what they want that way, you just encourage them to do it more
well mostly they say they don’t negotiate. In reality more often than not, they actually do negotiate in the end. Then they claim it was one time exception (and then do it again next time also).
