    https://www.404media.co/this-company-will-add-phone-airpod-and-smartwatch-trackers-to-license-plate-readers/

The sort of data Leonardo says SignalTrace can sweep up includes the RFID tags in key cards and pet microchips; devices with Bluetooth such as wireless headphones, fitness trackers, and mobile phones; components of a car like tire pressure sensors and infotainment systems; and Wi-Fi sources such as vehicle hotspots and laptops, according to the product sheet.

For those saying, “just leave your phone at home.”

I dont know if I believe the RFID tags. How are they getting them to transmit? Sure everything else on their list is sending a signal but RFID needs power.

Leave your phone, dog, car, wallet, smart watch, hearing aids, headphones, and any other potentially “smart” / Bluetooth devices at home. If it can respond to a signal, like an RFID card in your wallet, then it should stay home.

Been hearing this for fifteen years now, it is just so niche a threat that people shouldnt have those horrible wallets in reality.

The stalker info is coming from all the devices and the rfid blocking wallet is blocking reading of cards.

What makes them horrible? I like my no-profile wallet. I don’t want cards being readable through them. That’s the point

More power to you, I think they are fairly silly given the risk. Its like wearing velcro shoes to stop people who intentionally step on your laces…

I am sure there are nice ones, I’d use one if I found a nice one but only because I like it not because of its features.

Or get faraday pouches for them. Or you can wrap in aluminum foil in a pinch. Or an all metal pot, through the stuff in there.

Yes and no though. What most people would consider off isn’t. At least on iPhone it just disconnects but still transmits with quick settings disabled. Like Apple is part of the system even though people say they are not.
