But on the positive side, someone is finally attacking the last obstacle to using our expensive hardware however we want to: device drivers. I’m hopeful.

Bell@lemmy.worldto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What do I do with a steady supply of styrofoam coolers?18·2 months agoA quick check at amazon shows these costing about $14 each, no doubt much less in bulk but still expensive. Perhaps inquire with the shipper if they would accept them for reuse if cleaned. If the shipper is friendly they might consider setting up a program to collect these from your city and return them for reuse. The shipper could save considerably on costs and you might have found a new business.

I would think so if they need an excuse to lock you up on charges while they investigate something else or to squeeze you.

I’ve been running Pi-Hole on a B since 2018. It has always worked perfectly and is still kicking.
Bell@lemmy.worldto Linux@lemmy.ml•Finally making the move to Linux, and I have questions before I get started.13·5 months agoI did this same move two years ago. Make a list of critical must have functions. Get a second storage drive like your current one, swap out the old and install Kubuntu. Get those critical apps installed and tested. Create a virtual machine out of your old primary drive. Boot that inside Linux when needed.
Thinking about lunch, it’s 12:15pm here. Getting over a cold for the last few days.
This is exactly what I did. Later I copied my old system to a VM and I boot it up inside Linux when needed.
