I’m not comfortable having a unitary absolute monarchy sticking their fingers in my hobby.

I am if it finally kills EA. The irony for them to be bought and then shortly killed as they’ve done themselves to so many other developers would be too good.

It would be sad in the same way THQ dying was sad, just for the unknowns of where the IPs, studios and employees end up- but also really funny and very fitting.

No surprise they’re running out of cash with the number of absurd mega projects they’re involved with. The EA purchase is pretty minor compared to those shambles.

I would even go as far and say that the EA purchase (price aside) is one that kind of makes sense compared to some other projects like the line or the absurd sums they are paying to individual athletes.

With all their sports washing and involvement in that area there might be synergies with all the sport game franchises EA has that can be leveraged.

And with them being focused quite a bit on tourism and hosting events having EA also helps on the esports side. Buying the publisher is basically buying the sports federation. Usually they can just bribe those, not straight up buy them outright.

I stopped playing sims when it was announced. I started playing Sims 3 15 years ago, and ran a whole Sims 4 simblr for the last 10. Not even mentioning my love affair with Mass Effect and Dragon Age…

Does a fund run by despots even have to worry about financial solvency? They have no problem oppressing more people to continue funding evil as they wish, and our leaders practically cheer and lick their assholes clean while they do it.

Yes, kings who couldn’t pay their debts lost the ability to finance the ability to project force. Sure you can discharge your debts, but eventually the money lenders stop lending. Money is a representation of value and must correlate to the price of labor and goods, otherwise the army starts asking why they don’t have the ability to buy food. A monarch or two can get away with it by kicking the can down the road, but lenders are in the business of making safe bets.

Man, I’m just hoping that a sequel to Jedi Survivor comes out at some point. Maybe it’ll get sold to another publisher, idk how this shit works.
